Been waiting to write this one up for a while. So much love here, it was crazy. The ceremony was gorgeous; the site, the words, and the moments as well. When the officiant opened his mouth for the first time and spoke, I think rays of light emanated forth, and thus, I shed but a single tear. That’s saying something – for my tears are as valuable as Phoenix tears – they can mend any wound. But enough Harry Potter trivia and silliness. Scott and Jeanne do share an insane amount of love, and it was a wedding I was proud to photograph and attend.
We had lots of luck, from an amazing spot, great light, and some rain that was in the forecast, but held off for just long enough. Come on up to Mt. Tam with me and check out this amazing wedding!
In the trees at the Amphitheatre atop Mt. Tamalpais.
Jeanne, ready and glowing.
The reverend, waiting for the people of the day. This man had the most amazing melodic, rich, deep voice I've ever heard. It was instant gravitas to the day.
Jeanne and Dad.
A most important walk indeed. Photo by Zonafoto.
When family engages in the wedding, it makes it all the more special. The forest was alive this day my friends...
A little color amongst the grey.
I think they like each other...
I'm pretty sure everyone is fairly happy about this union.
From the ceremony site, we hoofed it on over to do a small little hike and get some cool shots.
SF Bay via cross process.
This is pretty much how it goes. Jeanne takes off and you try and keep up. I was sore the next day!
Tramping to another spot.
This was so much fun to watch. Jeanne spots her parents and then just go bounding up the hill to embrace them. Thank goodness for long lenses. No way could I keep up with her! And you gotta love the hiking boots 🙂
Heading to a little photo-op spot.
I asked them what it felt like to be married. This was the uniform response without looking at each other for inspiration.
I think if I was asked to make a T-shirt for Jeanne, it would read, "Goofballs Are Gorgeous".
A little quiet time.
Atop a rock.
We could have stayed up here all day, but it was time to head to the reception. At least we got one more shot.
Down to the Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club.
Table set and wine ready.
Time to cut the cake.
I've never seen a guy get so into the cake part of things. Could have been the wine? 🙂
I love a great 2nd assistant. Christine, through the window, same moment. Photo by Zonafoto.
I'm showing a lot of cake photos. Why? Dammit, it was such a fun time, that's why!
The hanger is open!
Scott's a dude in control. Very organized. I gotta say though, when he let it all down, things only got better.
I'm looking at these photos and still laughing and remembering the day!
I wonder if he's proud of himself?
I love people who've obtained wisdom through the years. These two fine gents tickled the ivories and sang a few ditties. I felt like I was in in a bar in England post footbal match. Totally awesome.
Tiime for a duo.
Scott and his Pops.
One more kiss atop Mt. Tam.
Lots of photos to go through in this edition, but I think they were worth it. Scott and Jeanne, thank you for “trusting your gut” and going with me as your photographer. There are so many incredible photographers here in the SF Bay area, and for you to choose me, well, I’m honored. Your day was absolutely incredible and I think I am in better shape for having covered it. I felt no shame in having seconds on cake 🙂
That’s if for another round. A few more weddings to post, and that’s it for this year. For those interested in booking something for 2012, don’t wait too long, as I already have 6 scheduled and more emails are coming in everyday.
See you down the road.
